Professional career
Professional summary
My work sits at the intersection of applied mathematics, software engineering and logistics operations. Since 1989 I have led Areté Software, a company dedicated to building systems for logistics and supply chain. Since 2009 I have run Silodisa, a warehousing and distribution organization with a refrigerated fleet specialized in pharmaceuticals and electrolytes. My background combines technical engineering, business leadership and organizational innovation, with an emphasis on auditable systems, route and inventory optimization, and data governance for operational decisions that hold up under executive review.
Areas of technical expertise
Mathematical modeling and optimization
Formulating operational problems with an explicit objective function and constraints; applying OR‑Tools and routing heuristics to real supply chain problems; sensitivity analysis and stress scenarios. The projects page will link to the published work on uRoutes and routing engines for TMS.
Software engineering on traceable data
Building reproducible systems with data lineage, version control and testing. Day-to-day work with Python, SQL, Google Cloud, FastAPI and agent-assisted development environments (Cursor, Zed, Google Antigravity). Emphasis on architectures that are auditable and traceable under technical and compliance review.
Route, inventory and logistics network optimization
Operational application of models on real distribution networks: time windows, TMS‑WMS‑CRM integration, service KPIs (OTIF, POF) and inventory under service and cost constraints. Operating context: cold-chain pharmaceutical distribution at Silodisa.
Data governance and quality
Designing lineage, validation and cross-system reconciliation practices (ERP/WMS/TMS) so that executive dashboards answer to a single source of truth. Documentation of assumptions, acceptance criteria and change logs.
